The Crypt Keeper... so annoying

Am I the only one who hates the Crypt Keeper? He seems to be the only narrator of a horror anthology that is annoying. The Coroner from John Carpenter's Body Bags was a dead man in a morgue who served the same purpose as the Crypt Keeper. Between stories, he landed the pun, but he didn't laugh at his own joke like a loser. The Creep from Creepshow never did anything but stand there and laugh, but he was cool. I don't like the Crypt Keeper, because not only is he not scary, he's also not funny. That makes me wonder what the Crypt Keeper was like before he died. Was he in his 30s at bars telling women puns right before they walked away?

the crypt keeper never died

he has always looked like that

there was one episode of the tv series that explained his birth

his mother was an egyptian mummy that came to life when no-one was around, called Myna and his dad was a sideshow freak called Enoch . who stole the mummy and made love to it in a cave and after they both died, the camera panned across the cave to a baby cryptkeeper gurgling in a nappy at the side.

I love the show. I have season 1 & 2 on Dvd. And on the discusiion subject i love the crypt keeper

Yep...Season Two, episode is called "Lower Berth", directed by Kevin Yaghar (who also directs all the cryptkeeper intros for other movies and episodes, created the cryptkeeper puppet, created the Chucky doll puppet AND direted [and abandoned] Hellraiser 4) and written by genre legend Fred Dekker.

i remember loads about the series and movies.

but not everything, could someone please explain. im sure there were three different hosts on the series. its just the cryptkeeper became the more popular and took over. im sure there was a greay guy in a top hat who locked the cryptkeeper in his home at the end, called the vaultmaster. and also an ugly, exxagerated-features witch hoseted some too.

am i right?

i checked on the net and found that these other two characters hosted the comics, so i cant be far wrong.

The Crypt Keeper is neither funny nor scary. So why waste our time? GET ON WITH IT!

I agree. What comes across as campy and fitting in a pulp comic book, and I was a fan of the EC comics, translates into a lame cornball puppet in the series and movies. I hate that damn puppet.

Katherine Verdoux...so annoying.

She hardly started to be nice, until she got bitten. She had such a 'everyone sins but me' attitude. She would have agreed, with the church, during the witch trial days.

I remember the episode, of the Cryptkeeper's birth. I just can't
remember what season.

I don't know if there were different cryptkeepers and the like, in this series. I didn't see ALL of the seasons. I did see the old-school films but, I didn't read the comic books.

Whenever I watch demon knight, always skip the crypt keeper's part. Demon knight should have been a stand alone film.
