James Belushi badly miscast

I liked this movie despite Belushi's rotten acting. He acted like an idiot rather than a bad-tempered chauvinist pig. He was the wrong actor for the part. Some actors just can't play some parts and he stuck out like a sore thumb in this. To enjoy this I had to try to ignore him as much as possible.

Maybe, but everyone else seemed good to me and supported a good story, Belushi was the odd one out.

I agree. He reminded me of Randy Quaid.

He was over-the-top, but GOOD over-the top! I was thoroughly entertained by his performance.

I don't think he was that bad at all.

I actually think he was a very good casting choice, even though I don't like him at all.

He wasn't that bad. Not the best performance in the world but it was decent

Really? To me it was like the role was written for him. His character was supposed to be a stereotypical Texan: annoying, hilarious, and villainous (just like most residents of that state). I thought he was perfect. If I ever watch this movie again, it's because of him.
