Which makes more sense?

So, Doug has massive amount of loose money just hanging around.

He can afford so many luxury things in this movie, including food, cloting, sheltering, entertaining, taking care of the hygiene, etc. of THREE extra adults.

(Remember, he can't use his wife's money for any of it)

He could afford to hire a maid, a nurse, a couple of friends to help him with the house construction/renovation, etc.

I mean, what does he REALLY need all those clones for? Basically only so we'd have a 'wacky romantic comedy about clones', and that's it.

What do the clones do that Doug couldn't hire some trained professional for, besides distrupt his family life, scare and F his wife, and act like an idiot?

As far as I can see, Doug would be _MUCH_ better off if he hired a competent nurse (would help if he had seen some Supernanny episodes anyway to give the kids proper discipline - not angry yelling, but calm, fair discipline methods and STRUCTURE, with proper warnings and 'naughty chair' or whatnot, so his family life would be easier to handle for him as well), told his wife about his needs to be able to take some time off and so on.

He could clearly afford it, so it's not a money problem.

He would definitely benefit from it, so I don't really see why he instead opts this "let's bring some 'free' help that look exactly like Doug'.

Really, what does it help that they look like Doug? It's more TROUBLE than it's worth! He could rather just openly hire some professional help and just take a couple of weeks off.

Nothing about this movie makes any sense, except 'Keaton wanted a vehicle to show off his range'.
