i don't know if anyone caught that, but kelsey grammer's character as a part of his back story apparently had his penis tattooed. they hinted at it once or twice. I thought it was a brilliant subtlety...kinda like the homosexual content in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

To me the whole idea was based on Tom Dodge's reaction to the fact that somehow, practically everyone around him knew about the tattoo. His look of unbelief when Pascal talks about it is hilarious!

I just saw my response from almost 5 years ago. Time flies! This is still a great movie, though, and having just watched it this evening, I noticed that the only person who seems to actually *care* about the whole thing is Graham. The other Admirals seem more along the lines of "what is with this guy's obsession with Dodge's genitalia?"
