Scenes that are akward to read in front of a class...

I'm a junior in high school and my English class just finished reading this. We're watching the movie now. When going through the parts for the play I volunteered for Abigail Williams. I had no clue what I was up for. All I knew was she was one of the main characters, and about my age.
The scene with John Proctor is extremely weird to read among your peers. Especially telling one of my fellow class mates that he "sweats like a stallion."

Sorry, haha, this might be a little OT but I thought it was sort of humorous.

My friend and I acted out the Proctor/Abigail "sweated like a stallion" scene in high school too! And I went to an all girls' school, so it made it a little more awkward!

I must say, I was a great Abigail...except that we didn't really do too much research and all spoke with Southern accents. (I knew how to do a Boston accent, but in the end am glad no one else could because THAT'S incorrect as well.)

Why...so...serious?

Feel sorry for the poor girl who had to read the part of Abby when our Junior class read it a few days ago. The role of John Procter was read by our middle-aged teacher! (None of the guys in our class volunteered to read Procter, so he had to.)

My teacher didn't even ask who wanted what, she just had you raise your hand if you were a drama kid. I was assigned Abigail, which I was excited about, but now I'm getting kinda worried.

lol are you Erin from Mrs. Palombo's class? It's Khanh. What are the chances of this, and no I'm not stalking you. I wanted some info on this movie and I found this. That was gold what happened in class. You could have been more passionate and talked like a phone sex operator. :)

EDIT: I guess not, I found your myspace on your IMDB account. This is strange because today a girl in my class named Erin who was Abby read that scene and I went to IMDB to check it out.

In my class i was reading Proctor's part, i messed up a few time. The First one was when i had to say devil's bitch at one part in the play. The other time is when i said GD instead of god damns liars. I enjoyed it though.

I just want to say I envy you girls! Im sorry lol about your experiences but by God if I have got the part of Abigail I would die from shock and pleasure. Oh God THATS embarassing. Im audtioning and i know i wont get her part but i still have that in the back of my mind. I hope I dont start laughing if I have to read her lines though!

The problem with Neil Perry from Dead Poets Society is I would have stalked him like crazy.

Really? I was abigail in school and I loved it because she is so melodramatic and crazy. I guess it depends on the person.

Hahahah our teacher makes us pick who we want to be for the day and I picked Abigail the day we had to read that scene.. Worst part was no one volunteered to be John Proctor that day so my teacher read it with me. (:
