This movie has been playing on Pluto lately. I haven't seen this shitfest in ages. I was watching it in the background and falling asleep. I always think of this moronic scene when I think of this movie. What a fun bad movie.
It was on again last night. This moronic scene makes me chuckel. Kapow, boom boom, kapow, boom boom... HAHA! Whose idea was that scene?
shareI always liked this movie, yet did not remember this scene xD its been years since I've watched it. Maybe they were trying to evoke a savage tribalistic feel to the scene? Like it was a violence ritual that we are all mesmerized by, like some brutal cult? Because I never focused on the kapow part of this scene, its like it was the background music but also it was being chanted by the people? Very strange indeed.
You'll notice theres random people punching eachother in the crowd, the beautiful woman acting aroused. Perhaps it was to show that its not just Sid who gets off on the violence.
Violence is a part of our nature, yet for Sid it is the entirety of his nature!
I think you are likely right in what it's trying to communicate, it's just so damn cheesy and funny. They even keep chanting it after Crowe throws a man off the balcony, he gets his hand blown off with a shotgun, and he himself goes splat. The execution is just so bad it makes me giggle like a pre-teen boy laughing at a fart.

I didn't notice the random punch at the end until just now. Gave me a good laugh.
