Wow this movie is crap. What was Master Crowe thinking?

I'm replying, not because it bugs me, but because you seem puzzled by why Crowe would accept such a role.

As he admitted in many interviews at the time, he loved the character's depth and highly complex nature. SID 6.7 is composed of nearly 200 personalities. These personalities emerge through SID in much the same way a person with multiple personalities develop a sudden and dramatic change of personality. So, with his character being so complicated and a challenge to play, he accepted.

To each, his own. I thought the movie was a trip. Crowe cracked me up at times.

I only wish they had a better ending. Throwing Sid's Module off the building was an unfitting End for Sid 6.7 I only wished they used that ending in the book were Parker installs his Module into a shooter videogame that limits and weakens Sid to being shoot and beaten all day long by Kids playing the Game. That would be a fitting end for Sid 6.7 an existance inside a medicore Shooting Game lossing all day long to normal kids.

Wow, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who read the book. :)
...or did you just read a synopisis on some website?

Either way, that was a terrible ending, too. That one I understood because of their analogies of SID being like a computer game antagonist, which I guess he is within virtual reality.

In one of the versions of the script, thankfully scraped, they had Barnes handing a sledgehammer to Madison Carter while the two of them went to town bashing SID's "corpse".

While I don't have anything better to suggest, I will say that I liked the "mini-ending" where SID falls from the highrise down through the multiple panes of glass, essentially dying from the one thing that heals him.

So, I suppose some sort of ending that plays off of who he is would be cool.

What was he thinking? How about, "I'm a minor actor from Australia and I get to star opposite Denzel Washington!"???

Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something.

He hadn't encountered Fat Cavil yet so he was still making mistakes.
