Anyone wanna' take a crack at trying do describe the music in this movie

It switches between this angelic yet creepy, fast-paced, type of music that I cannot put a word to, and hard metal (probably not hard metal). I'm really not a big music guy, can anyone distinguish these two musical styless I am referring to?

Actually it's a psychological trick to take lighthearted songs and give them deep tones. It makes them sound creepy.

Danny Elfman does this in a lot of his movies, think the music Edward Scissorhands.
