Did this film scare the crap out of anyone else?

I saw this a few years back and I dunno why but something about it really creeped me out. Im not sure what it is, perhaps it's the imagery, or the hopelessness of the characters battle against the demons.

But this is freaky shizz the only horror film so far to creep me out and i've seen a lot of them including all the classics!

When that demon pulled CC's arm off, I screamed. Ugh! I think this movie was pretty well done and entertaining. I love anything Bill Sadler is in.

I remember when I first saw this movie. I was 10 years old and me and my friend Paul went to go see it with our dads. We begged them to go see it in fact. When we got there Paul and I went down and sat in the front while our dads sat in the back. Right after Billy Zane punches through the guys head we walked back up to sit with our dads. I'll always remember that.

When Billy Zane punched through that one cops head was the only thing that made me jump. Danny and Cordelia as demons was kinda freaky though

reply

Yeah, the head punch was the only thing that really did any scaring. That's because it was unexpected. I first saw this on PPV and I had to be nine or ten, and the movie made me LMAO.

this stupid thing wasn't as horrifying as the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. A piece of crap for crap lovers and no one else!

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

I was scared when I saw it when I was 10. I doubt it would have the same effect on me now.

My parents took me to see this movie in the theater. I was nine. And yes, it scared the crap out of me. I watched it many years later in high school and I couldn't sleep that night!

This movie came out when I was 10. I was really into Tales From the Crypt and saw that Death from Bogus Journey was in the movie so I rented it on VHS the day it came out and yes it definitely freaked me out.
Now it's more of a fun movie to watch with friends. I still kind of get creepy vibes towards the end when they're trapped upstairs though.

reply

Yeah when Cordelia is eating wally and tears the lady's arm, that was it for me, this film is scary, the possesed kid was creepy too, the big snake like tounge, damn.

I was in 6th grade when I saw this movie at my BFF's mother's boyfriend's house. We were all there for the adults to have a weekend get-together and all the kids were hanging out. I remember seeing the movie from behind the couch in the living room. IT SCARED THE EVER LOVING FLIP OUT OF ME. Well into my adulthood I got creepy shudders even thinking about it! LOL :( I still wont watch it again.

I'm not sure what scared me more, the story or the fact that Billy Zane looked so much like my Social Studies teacher at the time. I remember being nervous around him for the rest of the year! LOLOL
