Not good

I bought this movie in the bargin bin at WalMart basically 'cuz my hubby & I love Sam Elliot. It took us forever to get around to watching it and when we finally did, were very disappointed. It was just plain stupid. What a waste of time & money - for the makers of the film & for us. Oh, well. I guess I've learned my lesson about bargain movie bins.

I had the exact opposite experience. I saw it and thought it was gonna suck, but the movies were two for 10 dollars. I loved this movie and found it endearing. I only watched it once since I bought it in December, I'll probably watch it again soon though.

Molly Parker alone makes this worth watching. She is simply delicious.

And Sam Elliot is always good, even in trite roles like this one.

By the way, my birthday is in April, too (you thought I didn't catch that, didn't you, lirpa31?).

Okay. It's ELLIOTT! E-L-L-I-O-T-T. Get it?!

I see I'm not the only one who perceived Molly's unique beauty.

I watched this with my young sons and they really liked it. It had no rap music, no sexual jokes I would be asked to explain, nothing like that...really a good wholesome movie.

Just got done watching this movie. I'd seen it stting on various store shelves when I lived in the US but never got round to getting it. Once I was back in Scotland, I decided to order it online. It arrived and I'm glad that, after all this time, I finally sat down to view it. It is a wonderful film, filled with good, honest performances and some nice scenery. Just a simple, nice movie.

I found it while looking for information on whether any of Norman Maclean's stories had made it into film, other than "A River Runs Through It" I found it to be a pleasant surprise. I'm glad I ordered it and look forward to future viewings. If you require profanity, sex, violence, etc., it's not the film for you.
