literally forgot about this movie for 20 years

I remember you couldn't escape this movie when it came out, I remember constant advertisements and the vhs cover was burned into my memory as a kid, but I forgot about this until randomly browsing stuff on imdb tonight. this movie definitely fell off the face of the earth. has it ever been showed on tv in the 21st century?!?!?

So did I until last Friday night, I couldn't even remember the name of the movie but somehow could remember the name of the gorilla, I remember it not being a great movie back when I watched it in 1995.
