Lou's the helicopter pilot, I think. Don't they say his name in the helicopter, when they're trying to get to the church? If I remember correctly, Alyssa says "we're never gonna make it!" and Diane says "Lou, how close can you land us to (name of church)?". I could be wrong.

oh ya ur right, thanx

don't you know how you caome accross people everyday and see other people who might look like someone you know or a celebrity.Well that is what happened here in it takes two. You could be realated to your mom and might not look like her but your still her daughter right? That's how you have so many celebrity inpersonaters because they have so many famous people character traits.

reply

Were they adopt because how can the mother have Alyssa and not having Amanda that doesn't make scene.

reply

It's a movie, people!
And they weren't separated at birth or anything; Alyssa's dad Roger says himself when he sees both of them together: "Identical strangers."

reply

genetic coding... there are only so many combonations.. that is why so many people resemble each other. It's possible that you could look like someone else.

reply

People do say that everyone has a twin out there. But not identical. Like my grandma's neighbor, looks like George Bush, the president. Like his hair and his face. It's pretty cool to see.

reply

I had a theory that maybe Roger's wife had twins and gave one away at birth because she couldn't have coped with both of them because Roger was busy all the time. They had to have somehow been twins separated at birth because in real life you just don't get a stranger who looks exactly the same as you. Similar maybe, but identical? It doesn't happen.

it sorta kinda happened to me... I mean, my father wasn't a billionaire and I wasn't an orphan *well, I was adopted* but there is this girl that looks I-D-E-N-T-I-C-A-L to me. my whole family thought she was me hahaha.

they say everyone has a double

reply

Look at keira knightley and natalie portman in Star Wars or paris hilton and that girl that impersonates her....it's possible. And it's just a movie. =)

reply

I think the movie would have been more realistic if they had them separated at birth. How difficult would it be to include that Steve Guttenberg adopted one twin and the other ended up in foster care? For the one second it would take to explain, the whole movie would have been more believeable.

reply

Bill Paxton wasn't in the movie. But yeah, there could be someone out in the world who looks exactly like you but you're no way in hell related to each other. I know of this girl who looks like me, but we're not related...I mean, but I'm african american and she's caucasion and we're different ages.

Mrs. White: Its a matter of life after death and now that he's dead, I have a life.

reply

well, in real life, the olsen twins are not identical, they are fraternal twins

reply

I mean it's a movie. and you know how everyone is "supposedly" supposed to have someone that looks exactly like them, somewhere in the world??

i guess they're it... they just happened to live down the street from each other?

reply

<<<<<<i guess they're it... they just happened to live down the street from each other?>>>>>>>>

They didn't. Amanda was an orphan in NYC. Alyssa was raised in a mansion in the country. It looked like somewhere near Lake Plaid. One in the city, one in the country, hours apart. The "down the street" was a summer camp across the lake...The orphaned children camped there in the summer. Maybe you should watch the film again....it will explain that.

reply

the mansion looks NOTHING like Lake Placid hahaha nooooothing at all. besides I highly doubt the camp would be 10 hours away from the city, no kid could sit on a bus that long hahaha

~*Swearing is just a device for making ignorance audible*~

reply

Okay...I actually said it LOOKS LIKE not, IT IS! My point (aside from saying that the camp is/was "upstate") is...it's NOT the city...doesn't look anywhere NEAR the city. Lake Placid was just the upstate area I chose to use as an example (partly because I have family there). I could have said Timbuctoo if I wanted that to be my example. "Looks like" and "is", two different adverbs. Thanks for reading way too much into my post. Much obliged. And your exaggeration is top notch. Kudos to you. Like Placid, NY is 5 hours from NYC. Guess you always liked to double things as a child... At least you actually read the posts. That's a start.

Side note: D.C. is the same distance from my home as Lake Placid is from NY. And, one class trip was located there. We were 10, at the time...roughly the same age as the girls...So, it's possible that children WILL sit on a bus for that long. They might not be happy about it, but, they'd do it.

reply

It's just a movie! Strangers around any part of the world can look so much a like and not be related, it's just life! The writers and producers obviously added a touch of reality to the movie. It does make sense if you have the brains. I'm not saying that you don't, im just saying that reality is the answer!

reply

But they called each other sisters at the end...

reply

Like i said in my previous post, it is possible for strangers to be so much alike!

Allysa's dad was probably going to marry Diane (amanda's guardian) and they are looking into the future at the wedding then they are going to be sisters! Either that reason...

...or...

Very good friends say "dude" or "man" at the end of their sentences, most popular in America and Jamaica. Maybe Allysa wanted to say "Sister" to Amanda to finish of Amanda's "Put her there....!" So the line would be "Put her there...sister!"

Could they be possible reasons?

and the fact it's a fictional movie

~oh, golly gee damn.

reply

Well I had a theory during that since Alyssa's mom died when she was born and Amanda is an orphan, maybe her mom and Roger were going to have twins but the birth got complicated so Alyssas mom died, and people thought that one of the twins (Amanda) had died but she was in fact alive but for some reason Roger had never found out. But then I saw the end … so no.. it turned out that it wasn´t truth

reply

that theory came to mind..that Amanda died along with Kathy Calloway but she survived and was put into the system w/o Roger Knowing

Also thought of this one..Roger and Kathy thought they were having one baby but once Alyssa was born things went wrong..the medical team had Roger leave the room to work on her and discovered Amanda was on her way out and Kathy died shortly after but they felt Roger would be upset over losing her and or feared a lawsuit knowing his wealth moved Amanda out of sight and she later entered the foster care system and they made it look like both her parents died while Alyssa went home with Roger and dealt with his loss..like Amanda made it look like she was a singleton whose mom died of complications
hint Roger said that his wife passed away when Alyssa was born
