The fact that there's no football in the film...

Is this a comment made by the film-makers that hooliganism is not about football?

reply

there's no football in "football factory" either (but that's *beep* anyway so who cares)

reply

Thats exactly the point.

Oh, and that choreographed football sequences look shyte anyway.

reply

Well, they get a game of two-on-two football against each other at one point...

Yes. Also, soccer is boring (but not as boring as, say, baseball).

Sorry ozzy, but that is completely wrong.
I know people who, while would never call themselves "hooligans", pretty much are. They are very very similar to characters in this, and other films of the type, and they are some of the most dedicated football fans I've ever met. They may be fond of the agro, but their number one passion is their team.

reply

I think the low budget may also have been a factor.

reply

Because the film was about football hooligans, not football. In the same way that rape is very rarely about sex.

reply

Very true.

I have friends who all became hooligans and they were regular fans from the start. They still care about the team. Perhaps more than other fans.

reply

They cared about the team, the went to nearly every match and watched the game, all they talked about was football and fighting. The scences in the terraces are very good, you actually feel like you are at the match. Probably more about football than any of the other hoolie films out there. Besides shadwell is a fictional team which would have taken away from the realism had they had a false match going on - you dont see the team but you know they are present in the film. Shadwell Army!

You wanna eat that outside?

Soccer is boring?Typical comment from a massive dumb american *beep*

reply

The british are now a degenerated society.

Now people are so freaking retarded the most important thing in their life is their sport team... and while this is occuring, the government is raping them with the economy, getting all their freedoms and letting the illegal immigrants invade them.

Those hooligans should turn loose on the government, not on each other.

Beat me to it discopants lol.

This film is utter dirge and not about football hooligans at all. It is somebodies false ideas of what football hooligans were or are and it's so inaccurate it's complete nonsense.

reply

except a lot of the story actually happened. Read Running With The Firm.
