Bad words in a movie for kids?

When Paul say "... a bitch, just like you!"

reply

And what should he say "... a brat, just like you!"?! It just doesn't fit, family movies are so below G now-a-days that it's not even appealing anymore.

And anyways, she was a bitch.

All the good signatures are over 100 letters.

reply

It's actually said twice. The time you mentioned, and after she dies and comes back as a ghost she says "The bitch is back!"

R.I.P Bernie Mac, Dimebag Darrell, Phil Hartman, River Phoenix & Heather O'Rourke

Alot of older (80s & 90s) family movies have adult themes and swearing (The goonies has quite alot) it was no biggie back then. I personally don't like how babyish family movies have become recently they are patronising and just bland .

reply

Is that still in there? I read somwhere that they cut that out on the DVD so it just goes " a dog named Karrigan, just like you!"

reply

I got the DVD the other day & it says "a dog named Karrigan, a bitch, just like you!"

Don't read this

reply

cool. might have to pick that up then

reply

Lots of kids movies swore in the 80's and 90's. The Sandlot, The Goonies, and quite a few others had the "s word" in them.

reply

Its the only way to entice older children and avoid a U certificate.

Its that man again!!

reply

The goonies was more for teenagers than kids though, or at least older ones than this movie was aimed at. Or at least I thought it was.

reply

I don't see the big deal. Bitch just means female dog.

reply

Never met a woman who referred to herself as a female dog.

reply

Perhaps not but that's literally all bitch means. Female canine. I guess it's only a swear if you really hate dogs.

reply

Dude, the Goonies was full of the s word and sex and hot babes showin' off their underwear and talking about looking down shirts.

You kids today are WUSSES. Probably afraid to start jackin' off till you're the legal age of 18.

Some people believe in sharing hard R films with their offspring from birth. I don't. Kids should be entitled to some period of relative innocence.

There is light fare that is ideal for toddlers, G and some PG films. More children's entertainment than family entertainment.

Casper falls under family entertainment, meaning not too mature, and enjoyable in varying degrees for people of a wide age range, but not necessarily appropriate for anyone of any age.

Because of it's more frightening ghost scenes, murder, malice, themes of death, and swearing, I'd say this is better for older kids 7, or maybe ideally older, than little kids.

reply

Yea , i think the first spoken lines i the goonies are shit shit shit by chunk as he spills his milk shake.

reply

I thought it was kind of odd saying bitch or even hell in a movie so clearly aimed at kids.

reply

This was back when kids movies were aloud to have some adult themes in them. The 90s weren't so PC as it is today.

reply

“Aloud” really? I hope this person never reproduced.
