What age did you start reading the books?

I was 7. The librarian gave me hard time at first and was all 'I think you should try another book because this one might be a little to hard for you'. When i first read them i would finish them in a bout a week. By the time I was 8,9 years old i was reading them in about 2-3 days.

I honestly don't remember, exactly, but probably around the same age...I became an avid reader early on, and the BSC was one of my top-collected series. I started as a member of the Little Sister club, went through all of those, and then through all the BSC books. I picked up a new one each week at the supermarket when I went to help my mom and grandma shop, & just devoured them. I weep now to think of my magnificent collections of BSC, Boxcar Children, Sweet Valley, and R.L. Stine books, and how they wound up being given away by that same mom I helped every dangnabbed week.

I was probably 7 or 8. This series was becoming popular a couple of years after the American Girls books came out. I remember loving the fashionable book covers, circa 1988-1992! Now I have passed the books down to my own girl. She did the same thing as me. She was obsessed with historical American Girl books starting in kindergarten and started reading BSC in 2nd grade.
