Was it a mistake to replace the 3/4 of the Fantastic Four voice cast for "Secret Wars"?
For the big "Secret Wars" story arc, Quinton Flynn (who incidentally, replaced Brian Austin Green for Season 2 of the '90s Fantastic Four cartoon) returned to play Johnny Storm. However, instead of Beau Weaver, Lori Alan, and Chuck McCann playing Reed Richards, Sue Storm-Richards, and Ben Grimm respectively, Cam Clarke, Gail Matthius, and Patrick Pinney took over.

I find this a bit peculiar because Robert Hays was invited back to voice Tony Stark on Spider-Man as were the entire X-Men cast from their respective shows from that time period. I remember reading John Semper say that he personally never cared much about the '90s Fantastic Four cartoon (I wonder what Semper has to say about Season 2, which is generally agreed to be a major improvement from the admitted dumpster fire that was Season 1), and that's why he was so embolden to replace most of the voice cast. I don't know, I just feel that Semper was in part, being petty and letting his ego get in the way for the sake for some nice little continuity. What ever problems that laid with the Fantastic Four series, I would lay at the feet of Ron Friedman, who was the show runner for Season 1 and the animation studios that they used, Wang Film Corp. and Kennedy Cartoons.

DRG4: Also about the Secret Wars, how come you guys didn't get the rest of the FF voice cast? It was really disappointing to hear only Quinton Flynn's familiar voice and not the rest.
John Semper: I HATED that show and most of the cast that came with it. I think we recast it better.
