Second-best werewolf film ever

American werewolf in London still is number one. But this is a great film.

Ha, I knew you were going to say AAWIL was the best. I love this movie, have done ever since I first saw it 20 years ago, but I'd probably say Hammer's Curse of the Werewolf was my second favourite werewolf movie after the aforementioned.

well i'm a sucker for classics and the 1940s one, "the wolf man", starring lon chaney jr will probably always be my favorite. this has a shocker ending. okey, spoiler straight off here, so she was the wolf nicholson hit in the beginning? you know a werewolf movie is never gonna end happy, but man did i want this guy to succeed, i don't know why i hadn't checked this out before, i love werewolf movies, what neat way to show the title in the opening right there, and the photography is beautiful right from the beginning when nicholson comes down driving his volvo, also starts off with such a shocker. i was afraid at first as i thought he was some sleazy cheater and that i wouldn't care what happened to this guy, but can you believe that kid took both his job and his wife, then he encounters this stone cold woman with the equally sour daddy boss, as it turns out they're following the 1940s formula as you really have empathy for the wolf man, this was always my favorite of the classic monsters because he was just a regular joe who couldn't help what happened to him, this version doesn't grow all hairy, and he looks a lot like the dean stockwell werewolf, i couldn't look at the deer scene, it is a bit overlong though and you sigh a lot after the first hour, and the background music is a bit off, i thought it was my cellphone, and notice real odd camera work at one point, the screwing scene seemed out of place. when spader runs through the gate looks unintentionally funny, the last 15 minutes goes completely off the handle and you just laugh and you're left wondering, why didn't she play the werewolf from the start. check out about 20 minutes into the movie, it looks like they're driving backwards.
