Reasons Why I loved this movie as a kid

1.) Loved the fairy tale before the movie ever came out.

2.) Loved the look of Thumbelina herself.

3.) Liked Cornelius and thought it was cool that he could tame and ride a bumblebee.

4.) Beautiful, colorful look of the film.

5.) An interesting take on the story (the original fairy tale was much simpler).

6.) Some of the songs were catchy or beautifully memorable (still love "Let Me Be Your Wings.")

7.) Jaq was wonderful as the swallow that helped Thumbelina. I wasn't expecting him to have a more fleshed-out character.

8.) The voice actors were great, particularly the famous ones.

9.) The scene where she reunited with Cornelius and became a fairy was so sweet and beautifully executed.

10.) Loved Thumbelina's costumes (except for that ridiculous wedding gown she wore to almost marry the mole).

11.) Thumbelina's character was very sweet and lovable, and you felt for her when she had to deal with the uglier aspects of her life, and cheered when she found friends and got her man.
