It has to be universally agreed Bernard was a dick right?

For much of the movie at least. Scott was in shock and had no idea what was going on. Reading a small card in no way explains what's going on. Yet Bernard is yelling at him and impatient and plain rude. Always annoyed me as a kid when I watched it and it still does.

Obviously still a fun family movie but he's just so unnecessarily douchy. I know he has a place to run but damn have some understanding for a new guy.

It looked like he was trying to balance a lot at the moment being 2nd in charge. He was impatient because he didn't have time to hand hold the new Santa while everything else was going on.

Yes...... But he WAS the head elf. Being in charge of 40-50 elves must be extremely stressful and overwhelming. Especially when Christmas rolls around.

He's just trying to make sure everything gets done, which explains his stern and assertive behavior.

It's just like being an elementary school teacher lol
