DAMN< I forgot this movie, its one of my favorite Elijah Wood's movies, I've got to get this DVD. It's been 13 years now since I've seen this, I lost the VHS tape of this.

reply

Sorry gang. It's never been released on DVD.

"Sorry gang. It's never been released on DVD."

Thank God! This is the worst movie I've ever seen!

Ebert's review for this movie is among the most hateful pieces of literature I have ever read. Perfect.

reply

But you DO like Death Wish 3? LOLOLOLOLOL.

reply

Definitely one of my favorite movies as a kid, I was 9 when it came out. I hadn't seen it for years until recently, and it is still pretty good in my opinion, Bruce Willis in his many forms is awesome!

I don't understand why everyone seems to hate it! I LOVE it! It's hilarious, from the singing Texans who want to fatten him up to the megalomaniac kid at home, raising the cause against parents.

The best part is when the children have the interview with North's parents...
"Hugh could be your son!"
"We don't want Hugh!" "He's not our son!"
And then they edit the tape so he thinks his parents are saying "We don't want you!"
Ah, I still quote that with my brother and sister, even after all these years. What a great movie! I don't care what anyone else thinks!

I do realize that you don't care what I think... but, um that Hugh thing isn't funny. Nope. Just not funny--at all and neither is anything else in North.

That's nice!

"I have something to say, and I'm gonna say it to you, and you, and you and your hump!"

About that. North actually thought that his parents would tell him they didn't want him by sending him a video in the form of an interview? That made sense to him? That didn't strike him as fishy in any way? I mean they could have called, sent a letter, visited... North does not seem to have been as bright as everyone said.

I really like this movie! I watched it for the first time some years ago, so long ago actually that I didn't know who bruce willis was... But by a coincidence I saw it again today, and I enjoyed it so much! Why everybody seem to hate it, I just don't get. I've seen a lot of movies that are CONSIDERABLY worse. I love Elijah Wood in it, I think he's a really great actor, and has always been. as North he is so effin CUTE! :)
Btw, bruce willis in an easter bunny costume is priceless. he's a real charmer in this movie:)

I have heard nothing but negative things about this film for years and I finally saw it for the first time a few days ago and I really enjoyed it for the most part. The film had a little more substance than I expected...I wasn't expecting that subplot of children all over the world suddenly ruling over their parents and making them wait on them hand and foot or that little kid in the glasses walking all over Jon Lovitz.

It's no work of genius, but I'd rather sit through 24 hours of this than half an hour of The Spy Who Came In From The Cold - or one episode of The Simpsons.
