A 3.9/10 Rating... Is America on crack???

I have seen The Next Karate Kid so many times and I absolutely love it. Hillary Swank is amazing and I especially love the praying mantis scene because you see a completely different side to the character and it is magical. I also love the end when she kicks that a$$hole's a$$ in the end!

I was really disappointed however, no I was actually very pissed, when I saw a 3.9 rating for this movie. I hear a lot of good critics here on IMDB, so then why the hell does this movie get such a bad rating? For those of you who gave this movie a bad rating, you all don't know what the hell you are talking about and only real critics should be allowed to rate on here. Screw you idiots!

Because the whole film was a complete snore fest. Hardly anything happened and the final confrontation between Julie and the bad guys wasn't even worth wait. I give it a 4/10.

I agree. People are beyond critical these days. It's no longer about entertainment, it's about picking apart every single thing they can find instead of actually enjoying the thing!

Movies that have won awards I often find cringe-worthy because the movie itself was boring - either plot, characters, or a mixture.

It's a pretty good feel-good comfort movie.

To the detractors, get over the need to count the number of things you can find "wrong" and actually WATCH the movie.

I so agree with you *thepansybastard*. I find most highly rated movies utterly boring and some hard to follow or even stay awake through. I like movies that take me away from everyday life, have a feel good story. Most modern day movies are terrible. This movie i'd give a 7/10 it was not perfect but it was watchable without having to think about what has happened where the hell the plot was going.

Everyone has different tastes and you cannot expect every single person to like every single movie. The need to bag movies you don't like I don't get.

You rate as you like, and others should do the same. Sadly, too few people actually vote that way. Too many subscribe to the 'if I like it, it's a 10, if I don't like it, it's a 1' philosophy, then STILL feel the need to whine and complain because it's not possible to rate something a 0.

If the rating doesn't agree with your option, just too bad, I'm afraid - majority rules around here. I thought The Imitation Game was dreadful, but I'm alone in this. But I deal with it...

i loved it. it got a perfect story. but it got overweighted by previous karate kid movies,
so people campared and gave ratings.
but i loved the beautiful movie. i would give 8/10

This is much better than the chan 'remake'. That thing was pure awfulness.
