Disney is driving me crazy...will this never be available?

First of all, Disney's mania with releasing the classics on DVD and then putting them in the Disney "Vault" indefinitely is ridiculous. Why not just release all Disney movies on DVD and let them all be available all the time? Also, why have they discontinued The Jungle Book on DVD? I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but it seems very unfair and just foolish. Have they got something against this film? I have it on VHS, as does my boyfriend, both of which are, of course, nearly fifteen years old. $50 for a used "discontinued" copy of it is pretty outrageous...but I just may get desperate. I love this movie, always have, and it needs to be in my film library.

So, I guess that I'm sorta lucky that when I was younger I got this, Cool Runnings, and The Three Musketeers on DVD. This one even has some worthwhile bonus features.

I can read your mind...Hey that's not nice They're a great person

I agreed about Disney putting its movies in the vault indefinitely. It seems that they don't care about having future generations seeing and learning from watching the Disney movies.

I clicked this because I love your name, exiled_poet. :-)
You don't want DVD. It will become obsolete media anyways. You want a digital copy. Its much easier to store, or take with you. Should I dare say, how to do this here?

I got sick of Disney barely releasing much.

Why Disney doesn't create a Disney Vault site that streams everything since the birth of Disney, I don't know. It could be subscription service or pay for each viewing, or a "purchase" price that lets you watch unlimited viewings.

Wouldn't that be easier?

The Bad news is they are remaking it again so good luck ever seeing this released again since disney always thinks their latest version is the perfect one. >>

I like physical media, but anything that doesn't look like it's getting a blu ray release I am fine just buying on iTunes or Amazon. They are HD and easily accessible.

i own it on HD with English and French tracks.

How's the HD master? Is it in the original widescreen aspect ratio?

If a HD master exists and Disney has already created special features for the DVD, there really is no excuse for the lack of a Blu-ray release...
