When Jerry comes home from school and his parents and Tim Blake Nelson show him the Camp Hope video, is this supposed to be the first time they ever addressed Jerry’s weight issue? That would be kind of a shock if Jerry’s parents never told him they thought he was fat.
shareThey probably tried before to enroll him in sports or get him to do outdoor activities to no avail, so they jumped at the camp hope opportunity. Also parents want breaks from their kids which is another reason they send kids to camp. I thought Jerry had a point that his dad was "fatter than I am". Its funny because it shows that the family probably didnt make it a point to really cook healthy meals otherwise only the kid would be fat.
I use to be the fat kid for awhile in my life, this movie was great! Its technically my favorite disney movie!
