By today's PC standards this would not pass.

The kids dressed up as Natives and you know what they'd say, "that is so racist". xD

Oh yeah of course. Its great looking at kid movies that I used to watch in the 90s and seeing how people would react to them if they came out today. This whole movie would offend obese or a fat person when its just a fun kid movie. I wasn't a skinny person and this movie didn't offend me when I was watching it.

So true. Everyone is so sensitive now. Its a shame. We somehow reached a point where people lost sight of the fact that something can be funny, as a joke, and was not intended to be offensive. Its like a society of toddlers, who cant handle anything that they identify with, being shown in a negative manner. Even though it was meant as simply comedy. As you mentioned, I was never a skinny person growing up, but this is one of my favorite movies from my childhood.

Up until somewhat recently, this was one of my favorite Ben Stiller movies. Still cracks me up.

It would offend a health nut.

Loved it, by the way.

"It didn't offend me, therefore no one should be offended."

"Don't cry, it is to be. In time, I'll take away your miseries and make 'em mine. D'Evils."

You are making it seem like a Troma film. Yes, the elements in this film would mean that Disney would not touch it at all in this era, but I still believe it could be produced today. I kind of wish Disney or Fox would produce films like this again. The mid range line up of teen comedies is sorely lacking these days. Some do get made but end up being much too vulgar or grating for families.

Funny thing is Native Americans weren't even a race. They were extensions of the Asian race mixed with some European [Caucasian] genetics.

Pathetic how sensitive and weak people are these days in America.

A bright light can hollow the deepest of nothingness.

There are actually greater genetic similarities between Caucasian Europeans and sub-Saharan Africans (via the R1B haplogroup) than there are between Caucasians and Native Americans (haplogroup Q which barely exists in Africa or Western Europe).

It's always fun telling this fact to Aryan purists.

The liberal social justice warrior crowd hate fun and they would protest a few different things about this movie.

LOL..sad, it's true.

If it had teenage girls instead of boys, it’d get criticized from right-wing incels for being “too woke” for it’s body positive message.

reply

Thought you were gonna say it wouldn't pass because of the main subject matter, lol
