I think Jessica Lange was amazing and subtly disturbing in her role as Mrs Marshall. The way she called her husband Hank (one of the best performances by Tommy Lee Jones that I've seen) "daddy" was really creepy. However, she supported her man as he supported her. True love may not overcome all, but it seems to handle quite a lot of adversity.

Lange was born to play Carly. No other actress of Lange's generation could have pulled off that role with such perfection .

So true,she became that woman like no other actress of her generation could have.It's impossible to see anyone else touching her performance.
