How could she read?
She hasn't been able to see since she was eight and yet she has no trouble reading? I'm sure she could read some when she was eight but wouldn't she forget most of that?
Why do people feel the need to be RIGHT all the time?

Boy, this post is old. Anyway, I thought the same thing too about her ability to read, but the movie said she was blinded when she was 8 so I'm guessing she knew how to read BEFORE she was blinded. She had around 6 weeks to refresh her memory before the "detectives do it under cover" scene so I'm willing to believe she could read the sign.
Who cares? He's a cheeseburger.share
When I was 8 I was reading on a high school level, and my children were the same way. Read some? Geez.
shareSure. But if you stopped reading for 20 something years, it would be an effort to read again. Same thing with people who are isolated and stopped talking for 20 years, talking again will be an effort like recalling words and putting sentences together. Geez, you're a rude one aren't you?
shareI thought this too immediately. Even if she remembered the alphabet, she should have problems reading still.
