Ellen Coming Out Made History and Saved The Show

The ratings for "ellen" the tv show qwew not great. It was moved around alot. When it was moved to 9:30pm on Wednesday Nights after Drew Carey the shows rating became stable. Her 3 "coming out episodes" lifted the show to a quaility that most tv-shows never reach. Good for her! The ratings for the "Puppy Episode" were the shows highest ever.

The Next 2 episodes in season 4 were not given proper attention by the network. Those episodes were great Tv and Abc for some reason ran to the hills and ignored them and did no advertising for those episodes. When season 5 came along they did everything wrong. For all the crap "Ellen Degeneres put up with durring season 5" is hard to believe that SeASON 5 turned out so great.

I am so glad that Ellen Degeneres has popular talk show. She is a funny person. She is a hero to me and always will be.

I liked her show but the ratings took a nosedive when she came out. I don't think it was so much the fact that she came out as it was she made her being a lesbian the storyline for every episode when she said she wouldn't do that.

I see what you mean. It seemed like after she came out of the closet, every episode was about her being gay. It became quite redundant after a while.

Exactly. Instead of being a funny sitcom, she made it into a platform. Not what the fans wanted to see. As a result, the ratings tanked.
