When D’Artagnan was dueling Rochefort

What happened to all of those other Musketeers? I know Athos, Porthos and Aramis were chasing after the Cardinal to save the king but there were a ton of other musketeers dueling the cardinals guards but they just disappeared. I have a hard time believing they all died.
