Well I really liked it, am I the only one?

Ok I am a bit biased here being a massive fan of pretty much all of Oldmans work, but come on this is a good movie isn't it? I too wasnt sure about the Jazz score initially but when I watched it a second time I really couldnt imagine anything else working. The acting was great all round I thought, and I really really loved the ending. I once read in a filmaking book that if a movie has a great ending the audience will be very forgiving even if the rest of the movie was crap. Now I don't think this movie was crap by any means, quite the contary but I must admit that for me at least the ending turned an average movie in to good/great movie. Having said that I am a bit of a sucker for sad endings. Anyways just my thoughts. Anyone think the same?

I also think this is a very good movie with a flawless performance from Gary Oldman. The ending is just perfect, it has a tragedy and melancholy I never experienced in any other movie yet.
Am I the only one thinking that the ending has been copied in 'Blow' ????

I liked the movie. I loved Gary's performance, he actually managed to make me feel sympathy for him at the end. I hated his character throughout the movie

*SPOILERS* especially the cheating on his wife but the scene at the end in the cafe actually made me want to see Natalie come back.*SPOILERS*

The performances really made this film.

I just saw it today. Loved it. Gave it an 8 rating. It's a shout-back to the old film noir movies of the '40's, even down to the jazz background music. Every actor nailed his part, the script was excellent, the plot interesting and unpredictable at times, the cinematography unexpectedly awesome, and the music capped it all off. Lena Olin never did get really famous, and I wonder why. I can't imagine many actresses who would've carried this part off like she did.....she played the madhatter, evil person perfectly. Don't know about you, but it took me awhile to realize that she was possibly criminally insane.

Awesome movie, for those who like film noir and dark edgy films (I do).
