shareIt was a direct to video only. Which was, and still is baffling. The orignal was a big hit and a sequel, even without Robin Williams was guaranteed to make a profit at the box office. I still don't know why they went that direction with it.
They came close to doing the same thing with the sequel to Toy Story. Thankfully smarter heads prevailed.
It could’ve been a box office hit but the animation was too terrible for it. If they would’ve put a little more effort into it, the yes- it could’ve gone to theaters. The story was strong enough.
