Was I the only one who LIKED this movie?

Granted, it is campy at it's best, and I did watch the MST3k version, but as a film, I actually enjoyed it. No oscar nomination at all, but the plot was the worst. Just a fun, somewhat *beep* 90's movie. ): I dare say, I'm a fan of the movie!

I'm surprised there are still comments on it. If you can look closely, you will notice the map in the treasure room reads "ambigua" It was fun. I wish the premise of it being where Leoanardo got his ideas had been better done.

reply

No, you aren't. I enjoyed it, and I wish it were available on DVD--but considering its reception by most people, I guess it never will be.

reply

There is a DVD. It's available in Australia.

reply

I liked it too, when MST3K made fun of it!

In all honesty I don’t know why this movie is in the bottom 100, I mean it’s campy but I’ve seen movies out there that are much worse. Delta Knights may not be ‘best movie I’ve ever seen’ material but it doesn’t deserve a 2.5.

it was...watchable up and until baydool dies. after that, however, it's just a ridiculous mess. it sort of had promise in the beginning. oh well.

Was anyone else disturbed when Thena was coming on to Tee in the pub? I mean i know she was a prostitute but she had to know he was only a boy not even a teenager.

reply

yeah that freaked me out too

i need to see this movie again, haven't seen it for 15 years or so

i always liked it, but everyone lols at it

reply

Well, apparently I would have been wrong, because I was going to say "yes" you are the only one who liked this movie. Please people. This was bad to Nth degree. And I even dress up and go to the Ren fairs! It's not a dislike of the genre that makes me claim this, but that it's just done SOOOOOO badly!

The funny bits weren't funny. The tense moments weren't, the actors didn't act, the dialogue was like something you would write on a napkin at Denny's after a night drinking, and the plot was thinner than rice paper... no.

No, no, no. This was horrible.

reply

I'm glad they made this movie, only because it allowed for MST3K to make fun of it. That version of the movie is very funny, and worth owning, but you could never pay me to watch the original, non-MST3K version of this stinker.

I'm a litle embarassed that they talked Olivia Hussey into being in this movie. Maybe work was hard to come by for her, or maybe she did it as a favor because she was friends with the person who wrote the screenplay, who knows?
She's still a very beautiful woman.

I think it's one of the better MST3K movies (but that's not saying much.)

Mr. B, what would you know about dignity?
