Being about 12 when I saw this... I nearly wept in the theater...

The scene with the record playing the bagpipe song, Butch tying up the black family, and Philip grabs his gun, sobbing when he pulls the trigger and shoots Butch. That scene stuck with me ever since. While I was a few years older than the actor, I felt emotionally just as vulnerable as Philip. It was a heartbreaking scene. I think I saw that movie with my mom. Probably one of the last times I ever saw a movie with my mom, as a boy.
Very underrated movie, IMHO.
