"As we did with THE CRYING GAME, MIRAMAX FILMS would like the audience and the press to not reveal the unusual nature of the main client. Let's keep this medieval mystery a mystery."

That's what we're told up front. What's this about? That the defendant is a pig? Don't we know that almost right away? I've no idea what the big Crying Game-style shock is. Is it merely that there isn't one? Sheesh.

Maybe they were hoping that the pig would be a secret. Guess that cat got out of the bag pretty quick.

Can you imagine how many fewer members of the audience there might be were the news to have got out that the whole movie centers around the case of a medieval pig being prosecuted for murder?

on the other hand it s super original as long as not done as a goofy comedy, and I think like many others the movie is truly great.
