Arnold's Role

Does anyone know why Arnold Schwarzenegger is credited in this movie as "Himself"?

(By the way I haven't seen this movie so don't think i'm retarded I just wanna know why Arnold is in this movie).

Thanks

Arnold was in the White House (as the Presidential Fitness Advisor I assume) and is in a short scene with the President saying...

"What you don't want to eat are desserts... donuts (pulls one from the Presidents mouth)."

Then they do a little Indian wrestling which is funny too. Check the movie out it rocks.

I believe the person who made the original post stated that he didn't see the movie so he wouldn't have heard the president speak to Arnold.

Exactly right, BurgGurl, plus Arnold wasn't a politician back in 1993, so mitchconn's reasoning is not only wacked, but "self-schmucking".

Nice to see you're only solidifying what we said, troll.

Uh, he plays himself. That is why.

I don't remember this movie that well but I remember the scene is very brief. The president eats a donut and Arnold punches him in the face. Arnold doesn't even have any lines.

"Time to die! Like a man!" Venom Spider-Man Web of Shadows

Arnold actually grabs Dave's hand and accidentally throws him to the floor after Dave eats a donut etc.

Arnold's cameo was most likely because of his friendship with Director Ivan Reitman, as they have done several projects together around the same time in the 90s.

Think maybe it had something to do with the fact that between 1990 - 1993 Arnold was the chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports?

Just a thought.

I love it when people know some history

It would have been interesting to have him play his Kindergarten Cop character again just for that scene since he is with a class of kids and Ivan Reitman directed both films.
