No Oscar nod for Joan?

I seriously hate how comedic and horror performances are often overlooked at the Academy Awards. Joan Cusack was so superb as Debbie in this film that I think she deserved an Oscar nomination. She was nominated for Working Girl and In & Out, so why not this? I think it's one of her best performances. Nearly thirty years later, Debbie Jellinsky is an iconic villain.
