Season 9 Episode 8 Hellbound

The four victims were born to die the way they did stemming back to the original group. However, as Dr. Holland was spared this round, was this the first time the fourth victim was spared - or was the fourth victim spared all the other times as well? I don't think so, I don't think this was mentioned and there is the comment Dana makes to Monica about the possibility of success this time although she is referring to her. I'm curious as a change like this one may point to the eventual rest for the tortured souls. What do you say?
