Questions about the ending - Spoiler

Do you think Vera survived her suicide attempt?
Why did Jane tell Vera that she didn’t kill Connie?
After Jane says get an ambulance, what did she mean when she said “and get me one, too?” Was it a car? I can’t make out what she said and the closed captions just say [mumbles]

Jane intentionally left the case file with the reporter. Wouldn’t there be fallout for the police department if the reporter published details from the file?

I know - this is only a tv show but I think it's very well-written and acted. Enough so that I'm fully engaged in the characters. I saw it originally in the 90s and for years afterward Ciaran Hinds, who played Parker-Jones gave me the creeps, because he played the role so well, until I saw him in Persuasion.
