Does He Spend More Time In Past or Present?

In a typical episode of the original 1993-1999 tv comedy, does the episode spend more time in the past or the present?

I have only seen a few episodes of Series 2 and the new special and from what i have seen it is fairly equal, the first part is in the present, the middle is in the past and he returns to the present near the end.

Of course in the episode where he hilariously has to have dinner with both Phoebe in 1941 and Yvonne in 1994, it is about equal.

Which do you prefer? The parts where Gary is in the 1940s or the 1990s? I do think Ron is hilarious

I think he spends most time in the 90s he tried staying in the 40s not going back later but was to hard for him.
I wonder if now he spend more time in the 60s as its not as bad.

My understanding was that he lived and stayed in the 1990s, but visited the 1940s often.

He owned the shop by time passage, so whilst he was meant to be at work he could pop back and see Phoebe and spend time in the 1940s. Under the guise of doing secret war work, he could then come back to the 1990s without giving explanation or arousing suspicion. So he lived and slept in the 1990s with Yvonne.
