How'd they get away with Goodfeathers?

Spoofing one of the most hard R-rated films of all time, Goodfellas was certainly not a kids film. They even spoof other films not for kids, like Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and The Godfather. For a show geared towards mainly children, that's incredible.

I guess because most kids haven't seen them. I didn't see them. But I see your point, if we didn't see the movie then the parody isn't as funny.

reply

Maybe because, like the original Looney Tunes, they weren't actually geared towards children, but to a general audience.

They were spoofing it and making it tame for the kids, eliminating cusre words, with all violence being of the cartoonish variety. Even when Pesto snaps and starts beating up Squit, all we see is a cloud. While Goodfellas isn't appropriate for young children, Goodfeathers is harmless.

Actually, I wouldn't say that. But most of the jokes that aren't targeted towards kids mostly go over their heads, so they basically don't understand them.

I saw this as a kid but didn't see Goodfellas til I was an adult. Same with the Godfather. I still found it funny how mad Pesto would get.
