I wonder if Gloria ever took Billy back

She may have later on down the road.

He paid off her debt. He got her on Jeopardy. He sang love songs to her, genuinely cared for her, respected her intelligence, was good in bed and a good friend to her and Snipes.
Just because he had pride and a gambling problem, I don't think that makes him a loser. Just a bad gambler- especially when his opponent knows his weaknesses

The Constitution is not the People's "permission slip". It is our Government's "permission slip".

Billy, decided to move on from Gloria, when she left the last time. I don't think he goes back to her, given everything he's done for her. It was her debt, he got her on Jeopardy, he wanted to help out the friend who helped her get on Jeopardy.

Maybe, maybe not. But the film was realistic by having them break up and not kiss and make up with cheesy music in the background to end the film.

Then he had his... HIS LIGHTS OUT!! NOW YOU WANNA GET NUTS?!! COME ON, LET'S GET NUTS!!!

Did I miss something? I think he never told Gloria that he got her on Jeopardy.

I know the movie's about gambling, but certain things were stupid - why did Billy go to Sidney to help him get Gloria back? I know that you can always go to a friend, but when Sidney said that he would help him, Billy jumped in the air out of happiness - LOL, why? He didn't know what Sidney could do to help him. He acted as if Sidney could guarantee get her back.

Then second, she leaves him because she hates his gambling issue. Just days before she wins on JEOPARDY? LOL.
At the beginning of the movie she was presented as a women thats after money - why would she hate gambling anyway?

Because Sidney Was a man who could make things happen and knew people. Billy knew this and probably knew about his security guard friend.

She was portrayed as someone who only cares about money because they had the Stooky Bros chasing them trying to kill them COS they owed money...So Their whole lives revolved around trying to get money to pay them back.

She wanted to stop living the hustler life style...She wanted billy to get a real job. This is made clear when they are in bed talking after she wins on jeopardy.

So Sidney knows people, but what would he do besides getting her on the show? And he only did it because he knew someone who works there.

I didn't even notice that small piece until I watched the scene recently. But Billy going to Sidney to help him get Gloria back came out of the blue.

Even the way Woody Harrelson acted - he jumps out of the car and when Sidney tells him that me might be able to help, he explodes out of happiness. It kind of fits because part of the reason she left him, was Sidney. But it's a strange part of the movie because nothing suggests that Sidney has a magic stick even if he's a cool guy.

The only thing I can think of is that Billy thought he could make some major money by teaming up with Sidney again and get her back by showing her the money he made LOL.

Good movie nonetheless.

And we must mention that Billy had to make a near impossible shot for Gloria to actually get on Jeopardy. Sidney simply knew the guy who could get Gloria on.
They're only noodles, Michael!

reply

I hope not. It was Gloria's fault he was on the run all the time and never took any responsibility for her actions even going as far as blaming him for everything.

Best thing for billy is to forget the selfish little girl and get a real woman who knows how a relationship works

I hope not!

One of the last films I can remember like this without everyone ending up perfect fairy tale ending. Everything nowadays needs to send everyone home happy 1000%, even when reality loose ends can be more agreeable.

No. Three strikes and you're out. He went there way too many times. He was too stupid for her anyway.
