Good movie

This movie is pretty good. I first saw it as a kid and I still love it. The spoofs of shows are funny and John Ritter (R.I.P.) still makes me laugh every time I see it.

I like that movie the way you like it too

Heck yeah, man. I remember seeing it when I was a kid, too. Now that I'm older and wiser, I can see that Stay Tuned isn't exactly Oscar quality...but it's not supposed to be. Great flick, and as soon as i can find it on DVD I'll buy it.

And I Thought IT was John's best movie...wrong-O.

I'm watching the DVD right now. Far from brilliant cinema, but good at being an amusing very-little-brainpower-needed piece of entertainment, which IMO certainly has its place. I've seen much worse movies that were trying to be great cinema and didn't even manage the quality level of several light-entertainment movies that come readily to mind.

I liked both Stay Tuned and Beetlejuice a lot untill Jeffery Jones became another Michael Jackson.
Mr. Spike is still cool, though.

hey, glad you liked the movie. i was one of the writers of the movie and can say i find it fun still. some of what we originally wrote was cut out, like the black and white dective sequence, but the cartoon was well done and other stuff was funny. i'm proud of it. J

I just saw the B&W detective sequence! (We're right now at the French Revolution guillotine scene).

I watched it last night for the first time since maybe the early/mid 90's and I actually liked it better last night than around 30 years ago when I first saw this film.
