Annette

What did Annette want with that guy at the bar? I missed this part, can someone explain?

reply

The guy in the bar - Jimmy O'Reardon you mean?
The problem with him was that either he was becoming too much of a liability to the IRA - or he wanted to split with them - some kind of inter-IRA feud. Not how he says to Kevin how the attack on the royals gives bad press to the IRA.
Kevin just got Anette to pick him up so she could kill him - just as he kills the other IRA guys at the farmhouse.

It's odd but Annette looked a lot better with her red hair wig on than in her natural dark hair.

Check her out (Polly Walker) in the Rome series. She goes between brunette and red hair throughout the series.

reply

She does look better with red hair.

O'Reardon was in charge of O'Donnell, and was unhappy with his unsanctioned attack on the Royals. The IRA wants O'Donnell dead because they know hes starting to get too big for his boots and is going off on his own, so they send the assassins.

O'Donnell however is ready for them, and he already has Annette on the case of his superior, O'Reardon. With him out of the picture and the blame of the attack on Sally and Cathy resting on the IRA, keeping them busy, O'Donnell was safe and his plans were coming along nicely.

reply

O'Reardon does say he's loyal to O'Donnell at the bar. Did he doubt his sincerity? Or was he going to have him killed no matter what?
