How I feel is that Fiona slept with Mimi as a result of exhasperation for the current happenings. I think in her normal life she would probably never consider sleeping with a woman or anybody who is not her husband, but the fact that she is on this ship bound to an exhotic destination, surrounded by often peculiar strangers, and considering her husband become involved with this outrageous couple and starts behaving strangely as well... I really think Fiona is exhasperated and is acting very much out of character when sleeping with Mimi, but this is a direct result of being exposed to an abnormal amount of jealousy, intrigue, sexual tension. This exhasperation, together with, some attraction towards the beautiful bad girl Mimi, make Fiona break the rules.

i believe that fiona first felt jealous about Nigel's attraction to Mimi. that porbably get her into a competition with Mimi and all her sensual and "femme fatale" style. she wanted to prove that she isn't just a boring english women with no passion in her life. Nigel was tricked into this as part of a game that oscar and mimi were playing. Think that their sexual life had come to a point that couldn't go further but also was impossible for them to be apart (as it was explained through their story) so the had to play these games.
Nigel being an ordinary man, thirsty to sleep with a woman like Mimi, was an easy target.

To me it seemed that the quote 'Everyone has a sadistic streak, and nothing brings it out better than the knowledge you've got someone at your mercy.' is well at place here. Fiona, having caught Nigel red-handed, knows she has him at her mercy, and punishes him for his infidelity.
That, and the combination of letting out her 'wilder' side, as it is implied their relationship has become a bit boring. So it's showing proof to Nigel as well as it is cathartic for herself.

I guess for Fiona it was about revenge but also about the opportunity. She wanted to have revenge against her husband, but she knew if she had sex with another man it would have felt just right to Nigel and then he wouldn't feel hurt. So after seeing her husband's behavior, Fiona realized that what would hurt him the most would be losing Mimi. There is nothing more arousing that revenge when blood is hot. So I guess Fiona had passionate sex with Mimi because she knew that was exactly the perfect revenge... and well.. Mimi was really sexy so... why not have good sex? Nigel was a stupid who got what he deserved. As for Oscar, he ended up killing Mimi because he really didn't understand her. In his selfishness, he kept thinking all Mimi needed was another penis and that was fine with him because he didn't have a useful one. But Mimi showed him that she could get pleasure even without a penis. That emasculated Oscar even more: before, he was half a man and after she slept with Fiona, he was not even that. Besides, she showed him that she was ahead of his game: Oscar was pushing Nigel towards her (pimping,I would say) and she humiliated him by ignoring his last game.

Fiona was seduced by mimi on the dance floor and she was attracted to her by her look, sensuality and dancing.
.......plus she wanted to get back at her husband for being with mimi.
thing I dont get though is nigel does not sleep with mimi, he only kisses her. Does that give fiona the right to have sex with fiona for revenge??....it seems she gets off easily too in the end. Fiona cheats with another woman and seems to get away with it, and they live happily ever after
