Redicilous plot hole? *spoilers*

After Eddy had killed the "real" Kay in the hotel, the police showed up at his house, but they all seem to ignore the fact that the fake Kay had already murdered earlier?? Is this the biggest plot hole ever or am I missing something?
Also it was never explained who the fake Kay was that Eddy used to frame Richard, who was she??

I never noticed this enigma/potential plot hole until you mentioned it. I don't know why the police would show up at Spacey's mansion afterwards. Maybe someone can enlighten me. I do know that the fake Kay was merely a prostitute Spacey hired to lure Kline.

Well, the real Kay was then using a different name, Olivia, so that's how the police knew it was two different people. Also, as far as the police were concerned, Olivia was a random woman with no connection to Spacey's character, so they wouldn't have figured out that the first murdered woman was a fake Kay. They probably went straight to Spacey's house after the murder of Olivia because they thought it was Richard who'd done it, and so for safety they went to check on the guy who's wife he had murdered not too long ago.

jztzt, but why would they police think Richard murdered "Olivia" if there's no connection? Forensic evidence can take weeks to processs!

And for that matter, why did the police allow Richard out of prison?

And how did the hotel owner know Olivia was on the roof?

Just saw Consenting Adults for the first time since its release. And yes, this is the biggest plot hole I've ever seen.

So the real Kay is murdered. The police shows up at Eddy's house and there's not one damn cop who asks : [i]"so, if your real wife just died tonight, who was the woman who was murdered in your house months ago? And why did you identify her as your wife when, obviously she was just a lookalike?

That alone should make Eddy a possible suspect in the first murder. He should be taken in for interrogation. At that point, the cops should really realize that Richard was innocent...

You people paid very little attention. They think the second woman murdered was one Olivia Kamen, a totally different person than his wife Kay.

Forrest Whittaker mentions a woman who went missing the night Kay was murdered who looked like her.
