Would you have taken her back...?

So Alex Ganchin decides to let his wife into the rear quarters of the train, finds that she's obviously been taken advantage of while clearly drunk and then proceeds to let her go to the rear of the train AGAIN.

After departing the train he spends a year working in Moscow at the Kremlin with Stalin until his wife shows up, looking about eight months pregnant, obviously knocked up by one of the senior officers.

Would you have taken her back at that point or would you have stood your ground in the train car, risking demotion, jail, or execution to maintain some sense of fidelity in your marriage?
