Disturbing kid movies

What's the freakiest kids movie you've seen? I can remember being freaked out by some of the dream sequences in the Brave Little Toaster, but the villain in Beethoven was really disturbing, especially with the whole stealing/killing dogs thing.

You can't be so strict with these kind of movies... it's for kids... they are entertaining for them...

I remember being scared by Aladdin when I was a kid. The part at the end when Jafar turns into the giant snake. And um speaking of scary children's movies "Legend" with Tom Cruise is a freaky movie. I saw it when I was a teenager so it didn't scare me but that movie definitly would have scared me good as a kid.

PHIL: "Ned, I would love to stay here and talk with you... but I'm not going to."

I remember my Dad taking me to see The Island of Dr. Moreau, the remake, when i was 8 years old and it scared the living Jesus out of me. I remember the background for the opening credits was this creepy looking eye.

hmmm let me try to remember what kid movie scared me. its hard to remember cause i havent thought about it for years! i mean years! The part in the Lion King when Simba's dad died made me cry when I first saw it. The part in Rock O'Doodle when that Owl turned into a giant tornado kinda creeped me out. I know it's not a kid movie but in the 1998 Godzilla remake I would always cry at the end when they shot down Godzilla and killed him. I was creeped out by Scar in The Lion King. I can't really remember though

Edward Scissorhands was a little messed up for me to see as a 4 or 5 year old child.. I must say the sequence when he's given his wax hands has always stuck in my brain.

One children's movie I thought was totally dark and disturbing was Pee Wee's Big Adventure, especially the scenes with Large Marge, the Clown Doctors and the dinosaur eating Pee Wee's bike in his dream sequence

"Babe: Pig in the City" is very disturbing, but I don't think it's a kids' movie. It's amazing how many movies for children have really dark themes. I would think children would distrust veterinarians after seeing this.

When I was little I thought The Neverending Story and Labyrinth were freaky (I think it was the puppets) - also Jean Marsh in Return to Oz.
