Real World Los Angeles (Season 2, 1993)

Boy is it weird watching this on MTV Classic for the first time. Things were just so much cooler and chill then. You see white people at black clubs dancing, vice versa, everyone living with each other and it feels REAL, not a drunken mess. I love it.

These days all they do is get drunk and fight all day. The newer casts are more racist and prejudiced than the casts from over 20 years ago etc.

David - a jackass and annoying but I do not feel he should have been kicked off for what he did, and Beth calling it "rape" was ridiculous
Beth - is Beth. We all know her. Drama queen at its finest and she added drama to the house.
Tami - is Tami. I know her well from Basketball Wives. She seems nice but any little thing sets her off. That annoys me, I couldn't be around her.
Jon - all he did was sit around and drink kool aid while watching TV. He also could be annoying
Irene - a level headed, professional woman that tried to keep her cool at all times and you could tell would feel bad about things. I like her.
Dom - he's alright. He seems like a cool guy, albeit a bit cynical?
Aaron - your all American boy that was down. He liked to be around black people and was cool as hell, although annoying. He looked like Zack Morris, or an 80s gay porn star lol

Omg I just flipped thru TV and saw real world San Francisco I'm dying with excitement I was such a huge fan if this show is think I watched until Hawaii or Vegas was after that then it just got horrible horrible! This show was great and very real I miss it from back in the day.

Same here. Something about society changed after the 90s. Real World San Francisco was a bunch of really intelligent people having important conversations about race and sexuality, but at some point it started getting trashy and all about having sex and getting drunk. I guess maybe someone with a degree in Anthropology can do a study or explain. lol

Ha u got it. I admit that the alcohol plays the bigger part, but I really believe the oj trial changed a racial vibe on a large scale. And i bet there are many less jobs for young people now, so many dont work.
Anyway, that's my generation; they look like superheroes compared to the millenials.

Agreed! My wife and I were talking about this last night after finishing Season 2 on DVR. I loved it. Best season I have watched. Admittedly I didn't start watching The Real World until college, when Denver was on. And I was a kid during the early seasons. However, my wife and I sort of old fashioned, and found it to be very refreshing. Kind of wished the modern seasons were like the original ones. Not always about people getting drunk all the time, fighting, arguing, sex, being ultra liberal etc...

This season, while certainly watchable, has always been a depressing one for me. Some people got along and even established genuine friendships but overall I found the cast icy toward each other. So many viewers hated Beth S. - who admittedly had her moments - but I actually thought Glen was the worst thing about the season. Hypocritical, thoughtless, and vicious.

I didnt like Glen much either. He was easily my least favorite and brought a negative vibe to the house. He was worse than Beth and David... although they were on my last nerves too.

Beth was cool overall but her "rape" allegations bothered me. David did not "rape" Tami. That would hurt me if someone said that. Tami and Beth overreacted with that. I get Tami being upset but come on, its not like they havent seen you in your underwear -_-

I really think Glen was a jerk!

My favorites were Jon and Dom!

Its so funny how either your perspective changes or you have selected memory because when I watched it when it originally aired I thought Glen was so sweet and hated Jon and thought he was stupid. But watching it now I found Jon to be pretty open minded and intelligent for his age and Glen was a total jerk I HATE!! Cant stand him! Also thought that Aaron wasnt as bad as I remember. But I agree they all didn't seem very close. They were all so different I don't think they developed any lasting bonds.

I never watched it when it originally aired, I was a small child! lol. I didn't start watching The Real World until Denver Season when I was in college. So I came in with no preconceived notions. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I liked this season the best. Yeah at first Glenn seemed pretty chill and cool, but then he became kind of a douchebag. Everyone gave Jon sh!t from time to time, but I found him to be one of the most likable cast members. He was a down to earth guy from the middle of no where who truly seemed to try to embrace others cultures and learn from his experiences. And he was the most talented out of the bunch. Too bad he didn't really hit it big. I also really liked Dom. He seemed like an interesting and intelligent guy, even though ultra liberal. lol. He reminds me of a couple friends of mine. I thought the whole Tami- Beth explosion over Edward was a bit much. I mean they said no, but they were laughing the whole time and playing around. Not to mention Beth was trying to get into very drunk Dom's pants. Double standards I guess. I am currently watching San Francisco and I still believe LA is a better season.

I agree with everything you said. I liked LA but they didn't bond much. Aaron would have been better off in the San Francisco cast. They were more his speed.
