Anyone on this board actually a fan?

Just asking - lots of people calling it crap. Wondering if anyone who comes here is actually a fan like me.

My wife and I loved this show! We watched it while it was an ongoing series, watched the shows in syndication, and we have the released seasons on DVD. Surprisingly the FXX channel on Cable is now running episodes of the show in the mornings from 9am thru 11am, and occasionally an episode at night. This is really cool since they have only released the first 4 seasons on DVD. You now get a chance to see the remaining seasons on the FXX channel. While seasons 5 thru 7 are not as strong as the first four, it is a pleasure to see these seasons again as well. It was a great show, and this kind of comedy series is truly missed in current television. About the only remaining sitcom that still has the same kind of great writing, and cast to match, is How I Met Your Mother. Most of the other sitcoms currently on TV are pretty bad.

Ha! I love How I Met Your Mother too for the same reasons, though it is really winding down in its final season. Marshall and Lily are the closest I've seen to being as lovable a couple as Paul & Jamie on TV.

It's held up pretty well over the years, as has NewsRadio and Seinfeld. Many people hated it even then, so that's not new. I would say that a few of the episodes have not held up for me, like the disgruntled subway worker, the power outage, and the Murray kidnapping. We know better now.

I was wondering the same thing. I came on here looking for fans but I've mostly seen people talking crap about the show. So happy I came across this post. I loved this show. I'm 28 and got into the show a few years ago when I found it on rerun. I was able go watch the entire series and I love it. I am obsessed with their love story and went their roller coaster ride along with them.

I love it. It's funny. Sylvia usually makes me laugh out loud.

Thank you! Enough with the haters, already!

To me, the "affectionate ridicule" between Paul and Jamie Buchman is the cutest thing ever! Each is willing to let their guard down because each trusts the other to pull their punches. This is my favorite dynamic for a couple to have, whether real or fictional.

The premise that romance need not end with marriage is delightful. Love is the fire that consumes but is also the water that sustains. Love is the tempestuous ocean but also the sheltering harbor. So often, tales of romance give us the fiery tempest. It is so refreshingly original that "Mad About You" gives us the sustaining shelter instead.
