Do you prefer Super Sentai or Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?

I always liked Zyurangers a lot more along with Maskman, Liveman, Carranger, and Jetman.

GO, GO, Super Sentai!

As someone who was raised in America in the 90's I will always like Power Rangers from the nostalgia I get from watching, its very cheesy and certainly cringe worthy, although, it is impressive they managed to get any story from the footage they used while making whole new stories is a wonder, but as an adult I am really enjoying the Zyuranger series, it has its cheesy moments, but since its the 16th Season of the Super Sentai franchise it is much darker in tone, focusing on the Zyurangers constantly having to protect children, as they are the ultimate objective for Bandora as an overall theme.
There are two main story arcs made up for the Zyuranger series, one involves the Zyurangers needing to protect two dinosaur eggs in hopes of bringing back the dinosaurs from extinction and the other deals with Burai, the DragonRanger. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were made up of 3 Sentai's, but for this comparison I'll go with just Season 1
Season 1 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is your typical good vs evil motif, with Rita Repulsa wanting to continue her war with Zordon and make the people of Earth as her slaves. With the heroes being good hearted teenagers we get many episodes focusing on them trying to help the world survive through environmental clean up, safety and more and having Rita turn it around on them.
The only story arc I can really say in this season involves the Green Ranger and him being put under a spell and eventually having it broken, joining the team and than losing his powers. We do get a small romance between Kimberly the Pink Ranger and Tommy, but it isn't focused on and Zack the Black Ranger does try to win the affections of a girl named Angela, but it goes nowhere.
The writers and producers I guess felt that American children weren't capable of handling such diverse story lines as Japanese audiences or maybe they were scared of backlash from parents, although in all fairness to them Lord Zedd, while he never scared me or any of my friends growing up, some parents did make a uproar about that and since than Saban and even Disney didn't seem to ever try and get that close to making a Sentai villain
So as a 30 year old viewer I would say that for story telling Zyuranger is definitely better, but if you just wanna lay back and have fun and even create your own Mystery Science Theater 3000, MMPR

I like them both, sometimes in comparing the beauty and hotness of the Power Rangers in other seasons/spinoffs to their Sentai counterparts.

I prefer Power Rangers as basically it's what I saw first and got hooked on, but I won't say which is better as it's all just a matter of opinion, but I will say that the fight scenes were better even though the ones in MMPR came very close to emulating them.

I loved Power Rangers as a kid but started to think it was stupid as I got older. I started watching Zyuranger as an adult and loved it. I don't really like the changes they made and things they added (Alpha 5). They also made everything so much cheesier. Why is there so much alliteration in the names of the enemies?

I grew up with Power Rangers, and still love it to this day. But Super Sentai is vastly superior, as there aren't as many rules it has to follow to stay kid friendly, which unfortunately does hold back Power Rangers in the long run.

Super Sentai all the way!

Americanized Power Rangers is completely idiotic and infantile!

Super Sentai is 100,000 times better than Power Rangers!

I've been watching some of the episodes on Tubitv to compare and I can honestly say that Zyuranger, although not as cheesy as MMPR, isn't any better. The acting stinks just as much, the humour is worse, there are even more terrible special effects and there is no logic whatsoever. Sure, they're not afraid to go dark and add a little depth to some of the characters, but those storylines are really too far-fetched to really get into, in my opinion. I did think their transformation sequences look way more cool (Dino...Buckla!) and the fighting scenes with the actors out of their suits seem better choreographed.

It may be due to nostalgia, although I wasn't a kid when this show was on, but a teenager who used to watch it as a guilty pleasure. And in that sense MMPR is still more entertaining to me.
