Why Was Sly The Dork?

This guy had perfect abs and bulging muscles. He should have been the rolling with the ladies, but instead he got rejected by all of them. I always thought that plot device never made sense.

yeah he was hot so i think thats why the writers put him with lorena in the end

I didn't think of him being a dork. I just thought he was obnoxious and extremely self centered.

Sly was supposed to be the jerk character (or the bad guy of the group), but at the same time he was a dork, like you all said.

He was selfish, greedy, sleazy, and all round good guy :), he was my favorite character on the show made it interesting.

He was the funniest by far, and best character in the entire show, outside of Jenny Garrison (Heidi Noelle Lenhart).

I have to say that he was my favourite character, he was just so hilarious. I also think he was the best looking by a mile, he had such a great body as well. He should have been a ladies man.

Think about it like this: in Saved by the bell you had your two good looking guys (Zack and Slater), three good looking babes (Kelly, Lisa and Jessie), the goofy principal, and the geek (Screech). California Dreams had the same thing.

It was hard to believe that Sly was not a hit with the young ladies. He looked like a young Tom Cruise. Yes, the character was sleazy. But he still should have seen a lot of action.

Michael Cade made the character what it was- funny, sleazy, but lovable. Cared about others when push comes to shove.

He was not the dork at all. What show were you watching.

Screech in SBTB was a dork, this guy was just a jerk.

It doesn't matter how hot he may be, his personality and attitude turned girls off

what show are you watching? yeah, he did some things that were jerky but he is no worse than psychopathic Zack Morris. In fact, I think he is better than Zack. zack only had remorse when he was in trouble or someone else was going down for his shi7. He was imperfect. as all children in reality are and all characters on tv and movies are.

He had some sucky points but he had good points, too. When Tiffani had that surfing accident he was VERY upset and concerned for her. He got along great with that blind girl. the show even delves into his 'douche baggery' when they involve his father [who similarly behaves like Zack's father] in a couple of episodes.

Reading the paper can really be depressing. Mr. Dithers fired Dagwood again.

If the California Dreams were the Archies then Sly was more or less a better mannered version of Reggie Mantle.

When there's no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

It was not very believable. He was confident, loved money, had a trained body indeed and was one of the better looking guys on the show. Many girls wouldn't have minded him being a bit sleazy. Especially rich, popular girl Lorena should've loved him. Perhaps the only thing against him was his height.
